CAMPER ARTICLES <\/FONT><\/P> Day One<\/U>, by Trevor Drake, June 28, Cabin E<\/FONT><\/P> Today was a great day of fun and learning. <\/SPAN>First we went to the chapel instead of the morning run, because it was pouring out. <\/SPAN>Coach Pacific talked to us about fitness and exercise. <\/SPAN>Then we had a great breakfast with our counselors. <\/SPAN>After Mass, we got ready for classes: rock-climbing, theatre, and Catechism. <\/SPAN>During theatre we had a warm up. <\/SPAN>This was fun because it was the kind of warm ups that real actors do. <\/SPAN>In rock-climbing, we learned the different parts of rock-climbing. <\/SPAN>In catechism, we played a jeopardy-like game that had to do with Catechism. <\/SPAN>After a delicious lunch, the counselors gave talks. <\/SPAN>Then we played different sports: wiffle ball, kickball, soccer, and Frisbee. <\/SPAN>Then everyone had a free time. <\/SPAN>Most people went to the lake for canoeing or swimming. <\/SPAN>After free time, we presented the names of cabins and flags. <\/SPAN>After a nice meditation by Father Joe, we had dinner, visited Jesus for a little while, had talent show prep, and prayed the rosary. <\/SPAN>The last event of the day was Man Hunt. <\/SPAN>It was fun!! Today was a fun filled day at Camp Sebago. <\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/P> Camp Sebago<\/U>, by Ian McCarthy, Cabin H<\/FONT><\/P> Camp Sebago has three more days of excitement! We have so much to do, but it has been a blast so far! Capture the Flag and Man Hunt were spectacular games. <\/SPAN>Having been a camper for two years, I know this week will get more exciting! The sports are super intense (most of the time ). <\/SPAN>The meals are good and definitely worth the wait. <\/SPAN>Classes are fun because we get to climb rocks and get closer to God. <\/SPAN>Camp Sebago ROCKS!!<\/FONT><\/P> Food at Camp Sebago<\/U> , John Duffy, Cabin B<\/FONT><\/P> Everyone here knows the food here is great. <\/SPAN>From bagels to pasta, from waffles to mountain dew, the choices are endless and the staff is always ready to serve us. <\/SPAN>Many kids here like to create exotic combinations like cereal and waffle toppings. <\/SPAN>We are always appreciative of the staff and know that they are working hard to feed us well. <\/SPAN>Overall, I give the cafeteria a 10 out of 10!<\/FONT><\/P> <\/SPAN>I rear my scurrilous pen to offer a commentary on my visceral experience thus far at Sebago camp. I have found our leader Bob a charming fellow whose leadership guides us through the rigors of camp life. Joe Billmeier strikes a more ocular role as his soothing voice exudes unrestrained hospitality and unconditional kindness. Indeed I would be remiss not to mention my own cherubic disposition and a cubic wit that analyzes the zeitgeist <\/SPAN>of our cabin. <\/FONT><\/P> Rock climbing is one of the best classes. First you get harnessed in and attached to the rope. Then you have to find the best place to get a foot-hold. While climbing up there are easy places and handles where you can climb up. Once you get to the top you have to get back down by taking little jumps backwards down the wall. <\/FONT><\/P> Fire Fun<\/U> by Luke Haigh,Cabin A<\/FONT><\/P> Last night at around 8:30 everyone at camp took the path down to Lake Sebago. When we got there we were greeted by a rearing fire and a bunch of smiling faces. Everyone was full of energy. Throughout most of the night we were roasting marshmallows and singing a bunch of campfire songs. Finally at the end of the night they told some stories. Everyone was jumping at the sound of any noise by the end of the stories. Once the fire ended, it was 10:30 so we moved our bedtime to 11:00! When we were walking on the path back from the camp fire, everyone was fighting for a spot in the middle of the crowd. When we got back on campus, everyone felt somewhat relieved. The bonfire was a very fun evening to end a very fun Tuesday. <\/FONT><\/P> Camp Sebago<\/U> by Andy Peruzzi, Cabin E<\/FONT><\/P> This is my first year at camp. It is really fun. I like all the classes. There is theatre, rock climbing, and catechism. I really like swimming. I also enjoy playing sports. I also took a kayak ride and it was awesome. The food is also great at camp. <\/FONT> Camp Sebago Poem<\/U> by Stephen Vercollone, Cabin E<\/FONT><\/P> It’s where we leaders go.<\/FONT><\/P> We come here to lead ,<\/FONT><\/P> We come here to serve<\/FONT><\/P> And we get what we deserve.<\/FONT><\/P> It’s the serving we do the best, but that is not the rest. <\/FONT><\/P> Throughout the week we get all the points<\/FONT><\/P> To be victorious among the joints.<\/FONT> Casey Soccer Game <\/U>by Joe Casey, Cabin D<\/FONT><\/P> My free time on Tuesday was quite fun. I played soccer with most people from the cabin. <\/SPAN>It was Mexicans vs. Caucasians. <\/SPAN>The Caucasians outnumbered the Mexicans by at least five people. <\/SPAN>The Caucasians had solid defense and a great goalie on their side, so throughout the game it was hard for the Mexicans to score. <\/SPAN>On the Caucasians offense there were many people. <\/SPAN>Since there were tons of people, the Caucasians scored often. <\/SPAN>For the Mexicans, they did not have many people. <\/SPAN>Their defense wasn’t populated enough. <\/SPAN>Luis is very skilled with his moves. <\/SPAN>Their offense was more populated than defense so they had good chances. <\/SPAN>The end result had the Caucasians winning by approximately 6-2. <\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/P> Joe Casey, Juan Carlos Fernandez, Sean Lockhart, Joey Thordarson, Sean Casey, Andrew Fernandez, Martin Buckley, Steven Vercoloni, Mark Hughes, Michael Kearney, Phil McAvoy, Tom Keefe, Jack Kineke, Philippe Ortiz<\/FONT><\/P> So, with that many people, there is only 1 questions to answer! That is left to be answered on Friday, at the trials. <\/SPAN><\/FONT><\/P> Campfires<\/U> by Will Martell, Chris Rose and Billy Hufnagle in Cabin F<\/P> Last night instead of night games we had bonfires. During the bonfires we had sing-alongs and people shared their talent with everyone. At the end Dan Marino started telling random jokes. Then coach Pacific sang a song and told a story about him and his brother. Then at the end of the night Alvaro told a story about his friend Joe in Puerto Rico. That made everybody go crazy! <\/SPAN>Besides the scary stories which were still pretty fun and awesome we had a great night.<\/P> From Mass to the Lake <\/U> <\/SPAN>by Cabin F by Jake Russell in Cabin F<\/P> Sebago leadership camp is one of the best places to be. Every morning we all wake up and exercise. We sleep over night from Sunday to Saturday. We stay with another roommate. We go to mass every day. <\/SPAN>The classes are fun, but rock climbing is the best. Only four people can on the wall at a time. After those classes we have lunch. <\/P> Sports<\/U>, by Nick Tucker, Cabin E<\/P> We have been playing many sports this week. <\/SPAN>Monday we played wiffleball and kickball. <\/SPAN>We won kickball 17-4. <\/SPAN>Wiffleball was a little closer, but it was more fun because of the competition! We played really well but they did too. <\/SPAN>The ending score was 4-2. <\/SPAN>Tuesday we won at Ultimate Frisbee, and won again at kickball. <\/SPAN>Sports are awesome here at Camp Sebago!<\/P> Classes<\/U>, by Thomas Rezendes, Cabin E<\/P> At Sebago Leadership Camp, we have three classes. <\/SPAN>We have theatre, Catechism, and rock-climbing. <\/SPAN>Theatre is my favortite class because we have a lot of really energetic, emotional, and expressive warm ups. <\/SPAN>Rock-climbing and Catechism are fun too. <\/SPAN>CAMP SEBAGO IS THE BEST CAMP EVER!!!<\/P> Catechism Class <\/U>by Eric Mackavoy, a.k.a. Fil, a.k.a. AHOY, Cabin <\/SPAN>A<\/P> Catechism is a great class. <\/SPAN>We get to test our knowledge and learn new things about our religion every day. <\/SPAN>Catechism is my favorite class. <\/SPAN>I am glad that Father Joe is running the class, because he is a great teacher. <\/SPAN>I love the class and I love that we are doing it again. <\/SPAN>Camp Sebago rocks!!!! From the lake to the fields there is plenty to do. At Sebago Lake you take the swim test and then can come for an awesome hour of swimming or kayaking. At the soccer field, there is plenty of games. Playing soccer is great and so is playing frisbee. Or you can just hang out and have fun with friends. Free time is one of the best things at this camp!<\/SPAN><\/P> <\/SPAN>
